Picking our firsts

The allotment is really going for it now i'm pleased to say and now the grass as all been cut its looking mightly fine. Broad beans coming to an end, had some this week with some peas in a pasta salad to enjoy for dinner with a BBQ meat feast. I grew "Sutton" broad beans but didn't get as many as I have done growing another variety and I grew then this year where usually I over winter.

Pulled up our first lot of beetroot not very big at the moment but couldn't wait to have with our BBQ.

Our first cucumber grown in the greenhouse. These are a mini cue and all mean't to be ok not bitter. This one had a mild flavour. The variety is "Prima". The tomato plants at home are just starting to bare fruits thats if I don't cut them off thinking they are side shoots which I did to the Black cherry variety. Yes I wasn't happy at all when I did that, gave it to the chickens who enjoyed the flowers.

Picked our swiss chard to have for dinner. I'm so pleased to have green veg. One son isn't a lover of spinach so sisn't like this very much either. One kohi rabi was really we some of us enjoyed that too.
